Maria K. Chorianopoulou currently is Assistant Professor of Practical Philosophy and Medical Ethics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her philosophical interests fall within the wide realm of moral philosophy with particular emphasis on the emerging challenges met by Applied Ethics. More particularly, she focuses on rising concerns about human rights, genetic engineering, gene manipulation, intergenerational justice, environmental ethics etc. She has published articles in peer-reviewed philosophical journals and in memorial volumes compiled by the NKUA. She has participated in many national and international conferences and is member of the Executive Committee of the Greek Unit of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics (Haifa).
