The MSc Leadership: Ethics and Politics is an international graduate program organized by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece, the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr, and the University of Sulaimani, Iraq.
The Department of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, the School of Social Sciences of the University of Kurdistan Hewlêr, and the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Studies, College of Humanities of the University of Sulaimany have combined their forces to establish and operate the International Joint Master’s Degree Program Leadership: Ethics and Politics.
The primary objectives of the International MSc Program are:
i. To provide civil servants, entrepreneurs, professionals, international relationships specialists, members of domestic or international bodies, scholars, and others with high-quality specialization in all the fields and subjects related to leadership.
ii. To give students all the skills necessary to become successful leaders in their personal, social, cultural and professional environment.
iii. To offer graduates the opportunity to write and defend a Doctoral Thesis on leadership-related fields and subjects.
The subject of the International MSc Program is Humanities and Social Sciences in relation to leadership. This MSc aims to provide and deepen the knowledge and skills needed for leadership and governance roles across public sector, corporate and community contexts.
The specific goals of the International MSc Program are:
i. To foster the knowledge, skills and dispositions consistent with leadership.
ii. To provide the skills needed to address successfully domestic, international, and global challenges.
iii. To provide in-depth knowledge of contemporary perspectives, practices, mindsets and issues related to leadership and governance.
iv. To cultivate the ability to formulate, propose and evaluate strategies for organizational leadership.
v. To foster active and critical engagement with the policy environment, professional practice and scholarly literature relevant to leadership.
vi. To allow students to master core leadership capacities, such as executive functioning, self-awareness, decision-making, reflection on practice, collaborative action inquiry, reading, and participation in leadership networks.
vii. To make students confident in their leadership, administering, and governance prowess and effective in solving complex organizational challenges.
viii. To prepare students as multi-skilled and internationally accredited leadership professionals able to perform a wide range of roles in the public and private domain.
ix. To support students to develop academic and communication skills.
The objectives and the goals of the MSc Leadership: Ethics and Politics all come down to one central aim: to produce well-educated, highly expertized, and fully competent leaders capable of flourishing in their professional, social, and personal lives on the one hand, and be highly competitive in the international professional, social, and political environment on the other.
The duration of studies is three academic semesters, two in Athens, Greece, and one in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.
Graduates will receive a Diploma of Postgraduate Studies (Master of Sciences) in Leadership: Ethics and Politics from the Department of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.
