Eleni Rethimiotaki is an Associate Professor at Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has been chairing National Bioethics Committee (2017- 2021). She received her PhD in Sociology of Law from the University Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). Her work focuses on ethics as a form of governance and the political, and legal issues raised by biomedicine. She has also studied European Union as a post-national paradigm of combining law and politics and the complex relationship between E.U.’s legal order and the national ones. At the moment she studies the sociolegal dimensions of digitalization, questions of rule of law and rights posed by algorithmic governance as well as ethical issues raised by artificial intelligence combined to evolving EU’s legislation.
